Three of these single seat fighter biplanes were built, the first of which had its initial flight in 1929. This aircraft was shown at the Olympia Aircraft Exhibition in July of the same year.
One novel feature which later became universal was the use of a bi-convex wing section with an almost stationary centre of pressure under speed variations.
Although similar in some respects to the Siskin, the Starling had an increased speed and greater rate of climb.
