The AW 29

This single engine day bomber monoplane was being designed and constructed concurrently with the Whitley and was consequently overshadowed by that aircraft.

Only the prototype was built which had a retractable undercarriage and a cupola gun turret. First flight took place on 6th December 1936 in the hands of C. Turner-Hughes, who had then become chief test pilot.

Power Plant:

One Armstrong Siddeley Tiger air cooled radial engine of 720 hp.
